Thanks, some great shots there, very informative...
I would not shorten the insert, more give it a waist line. I see what you mean with the elongation of the holes, as the core (alice through the x axis) would move relative to the outer extremeties of the shaft there would be a banana effect which would stretch the material... the answer then must lie in the size and orientation of the relief slots in the large bush body.... i will have a think and a play...

Good "how to" post.
Did mine this morning in no time at all. Although half my under tray was missing, so shaved some time off the task. Time to find and fit a new under tray. |

Of course the MkIII Mondeo mount solves the issue with only a small amount of re-engineering of the mount.

Given the proper mounts are under £50 brand new now, it's probably worth going that way rather than £30 for a second-hand Mondeo mount with an unknown remaining life span.
Just my 2p, of course - some will disagree!

Were the Mondeo version of similar poor, weak design to the OEM mount, then I would agree - but it is not. It uses built in buffers as part of the design, to limit the extreme movement which tears the OEM unit.

If you want total vibration free motoring throughout the whole rev range use the OEM mount.
20 mins to change and they typically last 80-100k miles

Nor I, but I just use two short bits of plank to act as a leader to the ramp.

I am about to fit a lower mount supplied by DMGRS, does it matter which side of the mount is facing you when you fit them? There is a difference in the appearance between the two sides.
