I Thought I Knew What I Was Doing!
Having done the head gasket on my 1.8T the other week, I then had a problem with the cooling, which was then sorted, until I noticed steam coming from the top left side (facing), which is hidden by the cowl.
No longer....... Oddly, with the cowl still wired up and balanced with wood, no vapours or steam, and alas, I decided to put it all back together...........I thought I knew how........ Wow, where are the bolts for the reinforcing bar? oh, already in the subframe which the bar is now on the outside of and cowl back in place, eventually got it sorted, twice. Then having put the headlight assembly back on and almost at the point of putting the bumper back on, found an unattached multi plug; could I see where that connected? with mirrors, torch and at the point of taking the arch liner out I then realized.....doh! it's on the bumper, behind me! finally finished and everything working, and me now not. |

Hahaha! You should have seen the mess I made of putting all that back together again after fitting a new radiator
But well done on your determination
