Wanted: PC Repair / Builder (Thurrock/Essex)
Hi guys,
I'm on the look out for a reliable, ideally local (I'm in Thurrock, Essex) PC repairer or builder to do a little job for me. I'd like a new hard drive installed (I've already got one). Sounds simple? Not quite, for me at least. I have a gaming PC within an MSI Nightblade case (pictures here) which is very compact. I really don't fancy doing it myself - you need to remove a few things to get to the old hard drive so I just want to give it over to someone who knows what they're doing. Any suggestions? It's probably not more than an hours work for someone who knows what they're doing... and doesn't have large hands hehe. Cheers James

Looking at the case you link to it`s just a matter of four screws (once the sides are off) and providing your cables match the new drive it`s just swap it over. Ken. |

Don't forget that if it is the main HDD the software needs loading.

Annoyingly, it seems like I'll also need to remove the CD Rom drive which sits over the drive I want to swap it. Ergh. Ah the good news on that front is my OS is on my SSD that is staying put so I think I'll be ok.

I would suggest you do it yourself too. It would take you longer driving to the PC place than to replace a drive, especially if you replacing a storage drive. Even if it needs formatted, you will be prompted to do that, since the os is on a different one. Power down, unplug the power. Wait 5 minutes for the power to dissipate (all lights will go off) then open the case, locate the screws unplug the old , remove, plug the new, screw it up again. Switch it on.
You should earth yourself too, although I don't think I have ever done this when changing any drives. Sent from my SM-A310F using Tapatalk
