Got fed up with the exhaust catching on the tunnel brace to the point of biting the bullet and ordering a set of rubbers from Rimmers (every set I've ordered from eBay has been longer than what's on the car).

Thought about whether it would be worth going for a stainless front section when the flexi on the exhaust goes. Decided that can wait until I can get it running properly, which then led to the scary question of "what if marinabrian can't sort me out at Gretna?". At that point I decided the answer didn't bear thinking about, so went back to thinking about work....!

Default They keep finding things to fail on the MOT!

My car failed its MOT on Saturday (on 7 separate counts!). Quoted repair cost £471, not including the handbrake which needs looking at. I found another garage today that will weld up the rear supports and other stuff for about half the cost. Car goes to garage tomorrow morning, will be interesting to see if it can be repaired at quoted cost. Fingers crossed!

Ordered a new front pipe for Frosty, I really enjoyed coming back to the UK and finding there was no longer a Hackney cab rank at the airport, the Metro wasn't running, and someone had gooshed the bus shelter, and upon ringing my old man for a lift to find the car I'd lent him was off the road as the flexi had rotted away.

I should have gone back on the plane and had another week away

Spent an hour or two cleaning the manky Zenon headlights off my donor car. These had been sat for 2 years in a wood so not nice at all. Started with 800 grit sandpaper followed by 1200 grit, both dry then finished with 2500 grit wet n dry. Finished with a polish with brasso as that's all I had!! havent sealed with anti-UV product yet as these are going up for sale next few days and just want to move them on. Didnt come out too bad for my first attempt!

Washed the boot including the wheel well, hoovered under the rear seats and only found 1p, and the remnants of some rich tea biscuits, washed under the rear seats, washed the stinking grey alcantara seats that now look so much better, washed the interior trim, hoovered the carpets, I need to get another hoover just for the car as I'm still not happy with it yet.

Removed the front bumper and front slam panel, attached the crash beam and put the towing eye on, she's now ready to go and have the right hand chassis leg straightened which is (hopefully) gonna happen this week

Away at the moment at my caravan, but after a head's up from Trikey that the guy buying his stainless exhaust only wanted the cat, I managed to speak to the chap and secure it for a Tuesday delivery! ☺ Also booked an aircon guy to come Friday afternoon and see why the old girl is only blowing hot air out. Need to clean her when home ready for East Kirkby next weekend!

Took off VIS motor to find a sticky flap on the balance. Cleaned, eased and refit. Hopefully still sweet for the MOT coming up soon.

What I did with my Rover 75 YESTERDAY - adjusted the right headlight down FOUR turns of the screw to stop it blinding the storks in the tree tops. Why was it adjusted 4 turns too high?

TODAY - I just took apart my non-functioning power mirror switch and cleaned the contacts with some expensive aftershave (did it twice, used two squirts). The mirrors both work like new now. AWESOME!

This club is fantastic!

Cheers,
Glenn
