A man and a woman have been arrested. Hopefully this will be the end of it. |

How about fires in various buildings? Or business that have major infrastructure contracts who "collapse" - Spaghetti junction many decades ago anyone? I'm sure there's many more. A good dose of common sense and a healthy regard for playing devils advocate would no doubt help. But if you're the one doing it I can pretty much guarantee you'll be the one for the chop. Maybe introducing a personal liability for whoever signs something off might focus a few minds on what could reasonably be expected to happen. How about being barred from political office/directorships for a period of, say, 10 years? Perhaps "they" would then make sure that contingencies were in place? Sad isn't it? Andy. Seeing and fixing the damage a bird does to aircraft nacelles regular I’d hate to see the mess a drone would make.
Oh and I’ve also had to repair the damaged caused by a cow once.

Now I’ve heard that pigs can fly but cows, really !
Last time I heard about a cow flying was when one of our drivers hit one on the bypass. It flew into the air and he hit it a second time before coming to a halt. That was an AEC Mandator back in the late 60’s and I worked on it straightening the chassis which was like a banana. On the drones, I had a narrow escape just a few weeks back when putting my caravan into storage. The son of the owner was playing with one in the garden and just as I was walking back to the car the drone came straight at me from about 30 feet down to 2 feet off the ground then back up over my head missing me by about 2 feet. It gave me a darned fright but I didn’t want the guy to get into trouble so I kept quiet. He is slightly challenged so has enough on his plate I reckon. |

I should explain a little more.
Was a few years ago a nacelle came in with major damage caused by impacting livestock upon landing at some remote airport. What a mess it made yuk.

Many moons ago when I used to fly gliders, a chap landed out in a field.
This was before mobile phones and GPS etc, so he was rather pleased to find a pub with a telephone box outside. An ideal place to hole up whiĺst waiting to be retrieved. In the meantime a herd of cows had discovered the glider, with curiosity. They carried out a few modifications, including licking the canopy, so couldn't see out, and eating the elevators and rudder. There must have been something in the fabric they enjoyed. Back to the drone, according to the news, the police are saying that there might never have been one!
