Default New Front Spring.

A new front spring has been fitted by an RAC approved garage after mine snapped and I called them out. Of course, they sourced the spring and fitted it, problem is, it's way firmer than the nearside one. Part number is KYBRC2933, and that does relate to Rover 75's but all suppliers sites are in a foreign language. Car is awful, rolls and bounces all over the place, and doing a 'push down' on the front wings it's obvious the new spring is firmer. Taking it back tomorrow but don't hold much hope in getting it changed.

KYB RC2933
looks like a diesel front spring to me

KYB are a reasonable brand......if it's been fitted properly, I would be tempted to have the other side done, as it will be tired

The RAC patrolman may have fitted transportation blocks to the strut to take the weight off the broken spring to aid recovery. Check that the garage have removed them otherwise you won't have any suspension travel. Don't ask me how I know !

I've just replaced the springs on my dads 75 cdt with KYB after I found a broken spring.

They make the car sit lower than before, now the front mud flaps scrap the top of the drive. They are the correct part for this car, has anyone else noticed this?

I got a pair of 'Sachs' dampers and all is well. I wrongly assumed springs caused a rough ride but it is the dampers that do all the work. Springs are all about the ride height.
