I used three cans repainting the engine bay on the Dorchester, and 1.5l of lacquer! It now looks how it should have looked when it left Cowley back in 99.

Great work as usual 👍

well done to you sir, on a very thorough, and no doubt expensive rebuild, really enjoyed your posts, and fantastic photos, of all your work carried out,i just wished I had an ounce of your enthusiasm, you now have one of these fabulous motors that looks like its just rolled off the production line,

I try and justify it by telling myself what I'm spending on refurbishing it, is less than what a new car or a replacement would cost me.
I would rather carry out the work I'm doing, have it solid and how I want it.
I could have scrapped it or broke it and bought something else. However that would give me a car that I knew nothing about, which would have its own set of issues and faults I would need to find and fix.
Your thoughts are very much aligned with mine. The key to a better job is not needing the car urgently and having alternative transport. The job which seems insurmountable at the end of a long frustrating day often goes easier after a good night's rest and some time to think. You're doing great. Onwards and upwards. Some learning curves are steeper than others, but you get there in the end, especially with the great help from those who've been there before and selflessly share on this forum. Incidentally, that's a good age for your little helper to get involved too. I started early with two sons and a youngest daughter. The eldest can assemble a plane and has a 600bhp 1992 GMC Typhoon. My daughter is pretty handy with DIY. The younger son still struggles with changing an inner tube. Good luck.

I am thinking of delivering my ZT-T at your doorstep once this "little" project is done. Way beyond my skills and knowledge. Kudos

Wow, simply stunning !!

It puts most people to shame when you look at a comprehensive overhaul of those proportions !!

I've a question, what did you use on the front brake pipes? are they replacements, or have they been painted?

It looks fantastic, I take it there isn't soundproofing on the 1800 bulkhead like the V6? or was it simply removed when the panels were off for painting?

Anyway kudos to you
