Default Air bag light again

Hi EVERYONE

the airbag light stays on on dash, I have tried unplugging the plugs under driver and pass sets and reconnecting this temporary fixes it for a few days but then the light comes back staying on all the time. I have tried tying up the plugs with electrical zip ties but still have same outcome. Can I cut the plugs off and use normal electrical connector blocks in place of them? at least this would count out faulty plugs as the problem, I think I could do it without removing the seats or is it something else? regards Mark

Try an electrical contact cleaner then reconnect/disconnect several times. If that doesn't work bend the pins, just a fraction.

I know from experience that tracing the cause of an airbag light can get very frustrating, I would suggest a T4 session to find the problem but I have no idea where your nearest T4 might be. Maybe drop either w44nty or freddie a PM, they are both in Norwich and might know of a local T4.

I've never had a problem doing it that way but never use anything metallic on the plugs. I use contact cleaner and a plastic tooth pick to very slightly (and I mean carefully and slightly) bend the contacts to give them a better grip/contact.

Did the vaseline, the contact cleaner. Worked for while but the light always came back on eventually.

Cut the connector off and soldered the connection, had no issues since. Chock blocks also work better than the original connector.

Only trouble with choc blocks is they mangle the wire when you tighten them. Solder and heatshrink is a solution but add about 6" of wire, eliminates the possibility of the wiring being put under tension by seat movement.
