Default Daytime driving lights

Lots of different options of daytime driving lights are available on Ebay and at Amazon.
Anyone fitted these yet and if so could you provide a 'blow by blow' fitting instuctions guide please?
I can turn a spanner but without simple instructions electrics beat me!
Thanks.

I shall be fitting a set this weekend, so I'll try to put together a how-to with pictures.

An alternative is to use the DRLs as factory-fitted from new. This is a T4 option and turns on the dipped headlamps with the ignition.

Thanks - I look forward to learning how you get on with the set you intend to fit. Sorry, what is a T4 option?
I have just fitted a new set of LHD headlamps as I live in Spain and have also just had my CDTI registered here.

There are many threads on the subject of DRL's, here's my journey with many types First, I fitted these....
Then an experiment fitting them in the front indicators....
Then I moved another set to fit in the bumper...
Finally I removed them & had Scandinavian running lights enabled by T4 as I have xenons.Hope this gives you a few ideas.

A T4 option is something that can be enabled/disabled when the car is connected to a T4 diagnostic computer. The T4 is the dealer machine for working on MGR vehicles

Hi John. This may also be of help.

See this thread, and a 'how to' of how I fitted mine post #98
http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...ht=led&page=10

These are the DRL's I bought for the facelift bumper
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-9-LED-A...item4ab3b21ccd

The DRL relay switch I used was a GENLABS DRLR3. This dips the DRL with the corresponding indicator light when signalling and turns the DRL's off when the car front lights are switched on.

However you can use the DRLR2 from GENLABS
This allows the DRL's to be on full and dip by 50% when the car front lights are used. Steve916 from the forum uses this relay switch (the guy in the thread that fitted mine).

Then you just need someone to wire them in or follow the guide on the thread.

There is also a DRLR1 from GENLABS

These appear on ebay which is where I bought mine.

Hope this helps.
Jason

Hi Jay,

Are those DRLs above the minimum legal height of 400 mm?

How about just turning them on, I know you dont always remember but if you do it often enough it becomes second nature

I think to be mot ok they need to automatically come on with the 2nd key position and turn off when the dipped headlights come on (usually done via a relay if you don't t-4)
