Default Your bicycle carrying sollutions

I'd be very interested to see pictures and read details of what you're using to carry bicycles.
Any recommendations for carrying 2 bikes, gratefully received.

Are you a Tourer or a Saloon? Do you have a towbar fitted?

Options:

1. Fit Roof Bars and then a generic cycle rack.

2. Fit a towbar and then a generic towbar mounted cycle rack.

3. Fit a dedicated boot- mounted cycle rack.

1. Would probably be cheapest- if you can still get the bars. However, it plays havoc with fuel economy, wind noise, and low bridges/tunnels..

2. Probably next in line in terms of price- farmore practical than 1 IMHO, AND you can pull a trailer if needed.

3. Better than 1 in terms of aerodynamics- not sure abt the price- however, it may limit access to the boot when rack/cycles are on.

If you take the front wheels off the bike(s) and lay the rear seats down you can get 2 in the boot of a saloon..
