Default Just having a brainwave...

Yesterday evening I had to park my car next to a parkingspace, on a piece of grass/sand.
When I came it had rained, but it was dark.

When I got to the car I realised there was a puddle of water right at the place of my front door. I knew for sure, because my shoe was soaking wet .

If I had some sort of light that would shine some light on the outside, I could see the area around the doors before getting in.

But I'm not sure what the best way could be. Somebody mentioned installing a LED light in the sidemirror. I was kinda thinking about installing a LED strip underneath the the doors (the whole stretch from the frontwheel (mudflap) to the rear wheel).

Both options are possible. And a LED light or LED strip is quite cheap, won't use much electricity and is fairly durable.

Anybody any thoughts on this?

Don't park in a dark field Seriously, was you thinking of having light once the door was open? Or maybe a remote which turned on light on the approach. having said that, I've had to leave my FBH remote off the key ring, kept catching the button and firing it up

That only works when the door is open. In my case that wouldn't have helped because I needed to see the puddle of light BEFORE I got to the door.

Easy. Just connect it to the interior light. You walk up to the car, press the unlock button on the remote and the lights turn on (including the light on the outside).

I like the idea of coming on with the interior light, that would be a useful mod

Did you see the LED lights I recently recommended to add to the boot?

I've got another pair I'm going to mount under the door mirror soon, maybe even this weekend.

Watch this space.
