when in the thread box click on the world symbol with a chain link on
a second box opens and then copy and paste your link address into the box just be careful not to duplicate the http at the start

In the GUI you type your messages, there's a link button at the top (the blue globe and a chain link icon). This is used to insert a URL (link) to some other place on the Web. This will appear as a live link in the text you submit.
On a separate browser page, go to the page containing the material you wish to link to. Use the cursor to highlight the URL at the top of that page The URL is the web address beginning with 'www.'. Copy that into memory (clipboard using the Ctl+C keys) Come back to your forum message GUI. With the cusor at the place for your link, click on the link button. This opens another GUI into which you paste the URL (use the CTRL+V keys). When this small GUI opens, you'll see 'http//:' selected. Don't touch that, just paste the URL straight in. Close the URL GUI. The message GUI will show your URL in position. Continue the message and Post it as normal. Your post will contain the active link, which will open a new browser page when clicked. That page will be the one you wish to show. TC I type slow I know. GUI is a Graphical User Interface i.e. the box you type into. Last edited by T-Cut; 4th December 2013 at 21:24.. |
