ha ha, as the world turns.

At 20:00 all shall be revealed. Big Brother of Ingsoc will Newspeak on the introduction of further state sanctioned rules.
Winston together with Julia and other Proles will watch the Telescreens intently.
Ignorance is strength.

Doublethink might be your way out, or the Ministry of Love and Room 101 are awaiting.

Are the English going to accept this?

A guess?
Sadly yes.
Hope not, but.....

On a plus we are unlikely to be able to have all the grumpy relatives that usually turn up on Christmas day expecting to be fed and watered and then disappear , just the kids and there partners will be so nice.

The wife came home with her laptop and screen and reckons she wont be back in the office until March. She is not overly happy about it but as she enjoys the social aspect of her workmates but needs must.

I am totally amazed by how few folk in GB have a BIDET.

Part of the problem is the youth of today are not used to being restricted in there behaviour. They have little or no discipline and when you question them they say ''what are you going to do about it ?''

When it was warm there were groups of youths drinking beer in parks in groups larger that the allowed numbers at the time, no police just a few council workers with no powers to stop them.

As soon as travel was allowed they were on an aircraft to sit on a beach and get drunk in some place with a hotter climate as they must have there foreign holiday. When did that become a law? I thought a foreign holiday was a privilege not a law?

None of us want our freedom restricted but some one needs to drum it into the the minority the longer they behave like this the longer we are going to have to have our freedoms restricted.

Sad as it is the pubs and restaurants that will loose money through earlier closing but personally I think they should be shutting even earlier and also ban house parties.

Spanish flu took two and half years before it stopped being a problem, if people carry on behaving like they are I think Covid will be the same even if they come up with a vaccine.

Keep safe.

‘TO BLAME’ BASED ON:
Asked Yesterday why the UK's Covid infection rate is worse than Germany and Italy the PM says it's because we're a "freedom loving country"

The full exchange on this question is worth listening to.

Effectively, ‘The Public’ were being blamed - wrongly of course imo.

Predictable or what? Now the blame game gets going and the name calling in the general public gets started. People start hiding behind banners that are borderline rule breakers, seemingly with impunity given their standing, and implausible reasoning becomes ‘fact’.

Events change the focus and earlier ‘facts’ become evident guesswork and ridiculous. Then barbed comments about harmless and innocuous remarks attract censure so we all go to Hades in a handcart. Mods hover, their targets rightly demur.

The usual remedy for a raised temperature is a C0vid-19 test but, hey ho, short supply prevents. Government butterfingers dropped the ball, again, and we are in catch-up mode. Again. And again.

Until the facts are actually known and the issues are finally resolved, is it possible to avoid slagging with words like idiot, pr@t and stupid? Especially as they are obviously not afflicted with those particular ailments? Even more, they will probably fail to produce any response worth having?

I don't believe intemperate name-calling or mildly abusive and derogatory terms ever did anything to resolve issues. Ever. It just doesn't work on any level and no matter what the passions are, I'll never do it.

Discourse has degenerated into slanging matches peppered with stupid little cartoon characters these days. What on Earth have we come to when issues are dealt with via cave painting?
