Thanks Bob, Andy, Rod, Yes it's a load off our minds, I was really worried about our daughter as she still has a really bad hacking & coughing all day & all night long.

We ordered some online shopping yesterday but every store here is booked up solid with the latest restrictions in this neck o the woods and the earliest home delivery slot available was next week (Tuesday)
Now that we don't have to self isolate we've arranged to go & collect it tomorrow.

Pulled pork in BBQ sauce with herby wedgies for tea tonight . and a couple of cold Henry's to celebrate I think.

Evening all, had the car in for mot and service today,£261 service parts were 104 plus vat and the labour was 80 plus vat then 40 for mot, thankfully nothing needed for MoT but does the service seem expensive for a 64 plate Insignia diesel? Been quoted about 350 for cambelt and water pump kit so will have to wait until towards the end of the holiday for that.

Meg spotted a helium balloon on this evenings walk, she thought it looked suspicious, a few barks then she destroyed it, just to make sure it wouldn’t do any harm to either of us!?!

I can just imagine the strange noises she would have made had she breathed in the Helium

As you know, she doesn't require helium to emit a strange noise

Hi Rich.

I think that figure is in the right sort of area. The oil alone could be £50ish plus filter plus maybe fuel filter/pollen filter/air filter etc. will soon add up to £100ish. At least they didn't try the stunt that one garage did to us. They charged us for 5 lots of 1 litre of oil - at the cost of 5 litres per litre (about £200 in oil ). It was an "oversight" apparently . They've since gone bust - I wonder why .

Labour sounds like 1-2 hours and MoT is at about full price. The quote for the cambelt is very similar to the one I need for the Passat in a few months time.

Take care.

Andy.

Full price of an MOT is over £55.00 (not sure of the pence), so overall, I would say that the bill is acceptable.
