I'd be happy to go back to XP Professional - used it for years at work with no problem.

Xp is still embedded in umpteen uses, be it a hole-in-the-wall or a gas station pump. It still lives, as does NT6 ... aka Vista ... albeit in a server disguise. I do have W10 along with others but it is not my preference for every-day use.

Overcast and drizzling and up in the North East. I'm only about 1/2 hour from Rich at the moment .

Celebrated our sons 30th yesterday with his wife, our 8 month old grandson and other son. .

Great meal at The Black Horse (https://www.blackhorsebeamish.co.uk/). Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Life's easier now as the hard drives all got written over with Ubuntu,Solus & Linux Mint OS's, Peace & Joy at last & never a moments trouble since lol.
I use Linux Ubuntu on my day to day laptop. It just boots up - in seconds, not minutes - and works. Loads of free stuff to do everything I'm ever likely to need.

Our other laptop is Win 10 and a pain. Takes ages to boot even after stopping everything I can think of and then has a mind of its own about what it'll do, when and how fast . Need Win to update the sat nav with maps & speed - opps, sorry - safety - camera database from the Pocket GPS site which I have a decades long free subscription to as sent then a "new" camera location a few years ago.

Really don't understand how Windows has such market share .

Andy.

Next time you're up in the north Andy give me a holler and we can maybe get a few together for a lunch/coffee meet somewhere central. You are probably nearer to Rod than me where you are atm. Can't think who else would maybe join us . Colin perhaps as he's about 15 miles north of me, and Rod, dont think there is anyone else in the lcoz thats local. I cant see the NEC classic show going ahead this year, but we will be going next year if its on.

Afternoon folks - a sunny start to the day has turned into an overcast afternoon with light drizzle.
Today, we have discovered what my daughter and son in law have been up to during lockdown. The result will be seen around late January/early February 2021
