Check underseat connections, both sides. Unplug & replug a few times to see if that clears it

1041: Airbag of Pretensionr DCU incorrectly configured
My personal theory is that if you put an airbag ECU (DCU) configured for rear pretensioners into a car with no rear pretensioners that only only way the ECU can know the difference would be because all three rear pretensioners that it is expecting are missing. I am guessing that if just one was missing and the other two present then you would get 1802:Rear left belt tensioner resistance too high 1804:Rear right belt tensioner resistance too high or 1806:Rear centre belt tensioner resistance too high but because all three are missing it then "aggregates" them to 1041. However this is a total guess. If anyone can tell us how the airbag ECU (DCU) knows whether it is fitted into a car with rear pretensioners or not then I would like to hear about it. John's car has the later AB Autolive airbag ECU also known as the ACU3. The complete background to this is here |
