T4 cablecheck or DTC0058A schematic?
I am trying (and failing) to connect my T4 to an MGF airbag ECU.
It won't recognise my grey cable as being valid. I am told that this is because I don't have a DTC0058A adapter between my extension cable and the grey lead. I don't have a DTC0058A. Can anyone on here either tell me what's inside a DTC0058A, or tell me how I can modify my T4 to ignore the cable check bit which (I think) would allow me to use the grey cable without the DTC0058A? My grey cable works on a Freelander alright. thanks, Philip |

All the adapter does is to put a 100K resistor across pins 6 & 11, no changes to the cable wiring.

I'm afraid that I can't get this to work.
A grey cable 75k ohm also across pins 6 and 11. I have tried only 100k ohm across ping 6 and 11 with all the other pins as per a grey cable, and I have also tried 100k ohm and 75k ohm in parallel across 6 and 11, which is what I thought you meant. This is basically a grey cable with 100k and 75k in parallel instead of just 75k. Also the T4 changes its mind. The first screen specifies extension DTC4007B + adapter DTC0058A + grey DTC0064A but when that fails it changes its mind and asks for extension DTC4007B + grep DTC0064A. The requirement for DTC0058A has gone! |

Can you tell me how you did it? Planning to build the adaptor myself. Sounds like it could be done.
