Me, after 23 years serving Lizzie in the RAF I left and got the job I have now! I am proud to be one of a small group (around 1200), as I am one of Her Majesty's Inspectors of Health and Safety. Have done it for over 13 years and love the job!

I've been employed by one of the high street banks for the last 24 years - not on the massive bonuses and salaries you read about I hasten to add.
I am fortunate enough to be seconded from the bank to my trade union and am currently working as a full time union rep within the bank. Busy, busy times |

I build and refurbish swimming pools and I am the company's sparks. When I'm not wiring plant room's I can be found running pvc plumbing from 1 1/2" up to 12". Like a bit of tiling or my favourite job of smashing and cutting old pool shells to make them bigger or shallower etc.
I am also the chemical dosing control specialist so I get to visit commercial pools to replace, repair and service their chemical control installations |

Computer systems manager for Dudley Council for last 10 years. Training & recruitment for them before that and in later 80's / early 90's collected rates and the dreaded poll tax (thanks Mrs Thatcher). Been there 26 years in different jobs (only went there until I could get a proper job, so yes, I am still looking for one!).

I am a 2nd (and 3rd) level desktop support engineer, officially. well that's what they pay me for. However I usual end up working on everything from laptops / desktops to Servers / Networks. I work in the Midlands at a large chemical plant.
However before that I was a instrument technician, electronic systems technician and I started out as a electrician (not house bashing) in a factory building and installing control systems for industrial laundry machines. |
