Thanks for everyone's help in signing the petition but alas it wasn't to be.

Absolutely disgusting!! The owners of the zoo should be bought to trial and jailed for such a barbaric act. Or better still, sample the bolt gun for themselves, I would gladly pull the trigger.
I'm absolutely Gobsmacked and it makes me feel ashamed to be a part of the human race when there is cruelty like that.

I'm so mad

I really can't stand the unnecessary murder or cruelty of animals Richard. I can safely say that has put me in a real bad mood for today.
I think a petition should be started to bring the owners of this zoo to justice. I don't know how to start one though?

Deplorable and wholly unnecessary!
I hope that people boycot this Zoo until such time as new management are
Brought in who have a better understanding of animal welfare than the current lot

They don't deserve to run a zoo

I would stamp on their throats first. Sickening. So sad. Probably the human flotsum that relishes in cruelty to animals.

I support all the views expressed on here and hesitate to reply. To put it in context, and definitely not to minimize the abhorrent practice, who will be the first to condemn Lord Bath of Lions of Longleat fame for euphemistically 'putting down' six lions. An adult male, an adult female and four cubs were killed because there were to many pregnancies in the pride, leading to violence. They were apparently unable to understand the irony of the word 'violence'. The 'culling' was done in the winter when the park was closed to the public. Convenient, that.

We need more of this, these were rescued by this ranger after poachers had killed its mother. Over 688 Rhinos were killed in South Africa last year-only to satisfy mans greed and stupidity. Four of them, a few minutes from where I used to live.
