Anybody heard of 'panic locking' on our cars? - Page 2

Good point, and some Limos were modified to have extra armour protection etc ('Blair's armoured Limo'). Although I think the armour was a later addition and not designed in, the car may have been designed in mind for ordinary Government use, embassies etc so may have had extra features with that in mind?

I have had panic locking on cars before, and as has already been said, it just locks all the doors.
In South Africa ( where my wife is from), you wouldn't dare drive around without the 'Panic Button' pressed, for fear of being carjacked, which is commonplace over there.

my Zt automatically locks all the doors when you drive away, is that what is meant by panic locking

I don't think so as that is 'speed locking' and is described elsewhere in the manual.

I thought the panic locking feature was the button near the gear stick that locks/unlocks all the doors a the push of the button.

Hence you can lock yourself in the car in a panic situation.

I have that feature in my MK2 Tourer

Shouldn't panic locking also close the sunroof and wind up the windows, if they are open, as well as locking the doors?
