Try unscrewing the rubber boot stops a little. If that has no effect then let me know and I'll get a couple more plastic washers out to you.
You could also try working in a little WD40 into the hinges as they could be a bit tight.

thanks for that will give it a go. when first fitted worked well. you could take your head off with it . best security on a rover was funny. but after a few weeks has dropped off so only kicks in after boot has been lifted up a few inches .
still a good mod. just a thought I have a sunroof so do you do a mod for the passanger seat 007 eat your heart out lol.

I got my kit fitted yesterday, worked great the first time, now it only pops, doesn't spring open, am I doing anything wrong?
