Frustrating when you just want to get on with the job!

I know where the Land Rover dealership is nearby and there must be a BMW somewhere which I've had no cause to use before.
Will phone them in the morning to get a price.
I'm realistically looking at doing this Sunday or next week now.

Roger Young Land Rover in Saltash want £9.52 for the bolt, needs to be ordered into dealers though. Will take at least 24 hours to arrive.

Rimmers are £0.82 chepaer including postage. What % profit are these people making on parts !!

Ocean BMW Plymouth: You'd have to speak to someone else maybe Vospers (Ford dealer) or Rogers of Brixton (formerly Rover, now Kia & Hyundai) as we have no way of knowing if it is one of our parts!!!!
It's BMW's ******* engine!!!

The same seller also does these but do not know what the quality of the pulley is like ? and it not a job you want to do twice in succession

Try ringing them again giving the part number if you did not the first time.

Pulley has just arrived from Island 4x4 (without a bolt!), can't fault them on turn around time.
Will ring BMW again later, off cycling now it's half term holidays.

I phoned BMW again earlier, got a different person couldn't have been more helpful.
He searched the system and found the bolt although part numbers don't match, and he couldn't guarantee it would fit.Total t cost would be £13.50 !!! Non refundable depositAnd wouldn't arrive until saturday. I day thanked him and said I can get out from rimmers mail order for half that price!
Back to rimmers it is then.

Started the job of changing the pulley yesterday.
I managed to lock the old pulley in place with a flat bar wedged on the subframe, held in place with some wood. This didn't end well as the lug on the pulley bent under tension allowing the bar to move.
See picture and look at lowest castellated lug.

Not having a crankshaft pulley lock tool, I decided to try to lock the fly wheel via the starter aperture. After hours getting the thing out, I didn't fancy using a 14mm spanner wedged in the fly wheel to hold it.
Knowing my luck it would be asking for trouble probably lose the spanner inside the casing!

Now I'll be getting the right tool before I ruin something completetely.

To potentially save on the cost of a new one, does anyone have the tool they would like to sell 2nd hand or loan ? I will cover all costs plus something for the weekend
Thanks Andy

Or maybe this, though it's not the MGR one: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MG-ZT-Rov...MQ1x:rk:1:pf:0

When I did mine I locked the flywheel with a screwdriver with a narrow edge that slotted into the teeth, just turn the crank gently till the flywheel locks and then maintain the pressure. i.e. no shocks
