Default Reflectors v's Halogen Projectors

Good morning all,

while my Rover is the best car I have owned, I am disappointed with the reflector headlights.
Would I be correct in believing that the halogen projectors will be an improvement on the standard reflectors?
I am considering changing over, but before I do I want to make sure it is a worthwhile mod. Cosmetically I prefer the look of the projectors, but I wouldn't want to replace the lights just for cosmetic reasons.

Thanks,

Rob

I too felt the reflector lights to be almost dangerous, couldn't see very well even with a bulb upgrade. I went for projectors with nightbreaker bulbs and found them a lot better.

Probably worse due to the blue coating on them.

Question

Why not Xenon?
It reads "Xenon" & "Super White" in the advert...

It's a marketing gimmick, fooling people into thinking they're getting xenon bulbs, when in fact they're halogen.
Only factory xenon lights are real, or an HID kit.
I use PIAA main beam bulbs from here https://www.powerbulbs.com/store/category/car-bulbs

Thank you @suzublu.
In other words the seller appears as a liar, doesn't he?
In France such a fake advert is liable to penalty and I would be very surprised it wouldn't be such in the UK.
What to do with him? Asking to take them back at his own expense & give me back my money? I've paid by Paypal...

Anyway why PIAA? Why not OSRAM night breaker Laser?
PIAA H1 isn't road legal and I would like at least H1 + H7 to be fitted.

It's not really a gimmick. If anything, Xenon filament lamps have the more valid name...

Xenon-filled filament headlight bulbs allow the filament to burn hotter and therefore brighter, without the lamp itself turning black. The Xenon gas is fundamental to the light output.

Xenon discharge bulbs, or HIDs, only use Xenon for the initial few seconds of light (e.g. when you flash the lights). Once the bulb's halide compounds are warmed up by the Xenon arc, the halides take over and the Xenon does buggger-all.
You can see the effect if you have warm-coloured HIDs: flashing the lights gives a cool white light, but actually /using/ the lights gives a warm white light.

The answer is to forget the whole Xenon thing. You've either got filament/incandescent bulbs, or you've got HID/discharge bulbs.
