Default £30 Fuel cost contribution offered - for Basildon to Birminghamish :-)

Hi All!

Is anyone is going from South Essex to the Midlands? Fuel cost on offer. I have bought a (rather lovely Nakamichi) cassette deck from a gentleman in Basildon. The seller is reluctant to have a courier pick it up, as his decks have been broken in transit before. To be fair, Naks are the Rolls Royce of decks and easily damaged by 'depot football'. I wouldn't hold the bringer in any way responsible for damage though!

I can go myself on the 30th of November as part of a London trip with work but I will be pushing my luck time wise. Is anyone coming up before then who'd be willing to help, for the fuel cost as a thank you? It would cost £30 of fuel in my ZT, and am willing to pay that contribution to anyone coming anyway but willing to neg. Please forgive me if I am breaking club rules by offering fuel share but my insurer said it's okay to do so? I can of course meet the heroic Schenker / bringer at a convenient Mway servcies :-)

Please PM me if you can help. Thank you so much.

Paul.

Hi Paul,

Im local to Basildon and could collect it for you and hold it here for you until you can come to collect it. How big is the item and would it be boxed up?

Cheers
Rick

[QUOTE=Rick-sta;2685106]Hi Paul,

Yes please actually Rick Sta - If you pick it up for me I can get it couriered from yours to here. He's being over-cautious on shipping it.

It's 430mm wide by 100mm high and 390mm deep. I'd ask him to package it well.

Are you okay with having me send a courier to collect it? I've found a specialist who will do it under 'fragile' conditions.

Thanks again, please let me know when you could collect it - great idea.

It's a long way away but I am near Basildon and will be in Derby 22-24 Feb, so if nothing works out before then let me know. Also happy to store it.

Keith

Hi again Rick! Duplicate here of a PM I tried to send just now but the forum said your inbox is full I'll keep trying to send.

"Rick, that is absolutley brilliant! Thank you so much. This is quite something you've done here, a hell of a lot of people wouldn't - I owe you.

If you'd be so kind as to give me your address, and times when collection is possible, I shall book a courier to pick it up.

Thanks so much again for your help this evening.

Paul."

Hi Paul,

Sorry mate inbox now emptied

You're welcome, no problem at all. The pony express section on this forum has helped me out many times when getting hold of parts across the country, so only returning the favour

PM on it's way for address details.

Cheers,
Rick
