We don't care, this club is about the members as well as the cars You should see some of the cars I have turned up in.

Oh I know that, wasn't meant as a put-down.
Just had a moment of reflection of how this year hasn't gone to plan with getting on top of the cosmetic stuff.

There is always cosmetic stuff to do, just when you think its ok, you spot another bit that needs attention...

It was a beautiful sunny day here today so of course I spent all afternoon in the garage changing the Lower engine steady rubbers for poly.
While the undertray was off I was able to install a couple of new quick release fasteners I had bought from Rimmers. I forgot to buy the nylon washers that hold them in place but was happy to find that some stainless Tinnerman washers I have had since my aircraft mechanic days 30+ years ago did the job.
It was a hard day on my arthritic hands but they are responding well to treatment with Margaritas. Tomorrow may be challenging.

Painted the rusty cover thing under the rear arch and cleaned sealant from around the rear lights. New seals going on when its rustproofed! So far struggling to get the condensor fitted though. Original guy ignoring me, one on holiday and was also told yesterday it was old and the nuts etc would be rusty so they didnt fancy the job. Seriously? And these are listed as aircon specialists not garages. Might just leave it a bit. It will be winter before anyone wants to fit it!

My aircon man was reluctant to do my '99 75 until I told him that it was a low miler and rust free! He was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was and I suggested that I could put his name on the forum. He said that he had enough work! I suspect that cars that are mostly over 10 years old are not as attractive as the new ones to work on. Having recently changed the rear upper arms, I can see what he means!

The impression I am getting is they are mega busy with simple regas jobs so mine looks like extra work they don't need. The first guy actually said something to the effect he'd prefer to do it in winter when he's nothing on. Considering he got me to order a condensor you'd think he'd at least answer! And he has glowing feedback!

Nothing, except look at the chassis leg repair which I'm very happy with, now to put her back together.

Inspired by Dawns polishing efforts, I set about my exhaust. It then needed about a foot chopping off before fitting!

Pleased to say it’s on at last.
