I have just bought 4 new badges for my 'Union' alloy wheels for less than £11 delivered. They are being supplied by a fellow member on here and are excellent; actually superior to the originals. Try www.rover75.me.uk . Other badges are available from this source and from other members on here.

3d printers are good but to find a decent one you need to be looking at around the 9-12k price range, you would then have to add on any support contract. Something the company i work for has looked at and then discounted for making replacement laptop parts once the parts are no longer available from the manufacturer. you also have to think about how the printer needs to be programmed and told the exact measurements for the part to be made, the cheapest and most accurate way would be to use digital images (about 1000 should do) which will then give exact replica of whatever you want, problem is these kits are another 3-5k.

so great idea but unless you’re going into business in a big way and have the warehousing to hold the stock you probably going to go busy rather quickly

I'd be happy to have a 3d printer just to print up things like fir tree clips etc.

And V6 thermostat housings and 1.8 T-pieces. Or perhaps not.

Whatever the cost right now, 3D printing is the way it's going. They're already printing metal parts for jet fighters (currently under test) and within ten years they'll be like part of the furniture. Probably printed as well.

I dabble in 3D graphics, so I wish I'd a spare grand or two for a printer - and a bigger house (which will also be printed routinely by 2030).

I have a Makerbot printer at home, and yes it helps me a lot in spare parts replacement problem. I’m currently in the process of printing iPhone case using rubber-like filament from 3d2print.net. 3D printers and its materials may be quite expensive, but if you’re planning to get into 3D printing, I assure you can save a lot of money in the long run. It’s definitely a great business investment.

The trouble is you can print many items but the mechanical properties will be nothing like the original intent and strength.
There are probably 50 different kinds of plastics used on the 75 alone amd you would be lucky if 3d printing is suitable for anything other than simple interior trims, even then these are specified and tested for safety in accidents.

I would not use them for anything other than prototyping for demonstration processes.

There is a website that will print things for you now.

You upload a 3D file and choose a material
