Evening all, sat on a coach in a rather cool Sunderland, waiting for a hockey team to return. Have to take them back yo Newcastle university, then back to depot and clean coach before I can go home

Pleased I wasn't at Sheffield today, one of the lads got back just before me, and his bus had been attacked by yobs down there. After he dropped off he went to get a brush out of the side locker, and 5 yobs tried to get on the coach. He threw them off, and they started lobbing bricks at him and the coach, then kicked the rear light lenses in. He called the police, but they refused to attend,as it "wasn't a life threatening situation"????? So having bricks thrown at you isnt life threatening apparently. At least £3k damage. The lights are a complete unit and the lenses aren't available separately.

Good morning Richard, that is an awful and traumatic experience your friend had to endure in Sheffield with those thugs. It is little consolation that he was not hurt. In 2004, I was working late in Hackney and after work I had to walk through an estate called Woodberry Down to pick up my car parked down a darkly lit road. When I got to the car, a Rover 75 in BRG, several ethnics were either sitting on the car or leaning against it smoking weed and drinking booze. I didn't want any trouble, I just wanted to get home. They cleared out of my way, they were semi-friendly, but the atmosphere felt hostile and I was able to pull the car out. As i did so, they threw their bottles and cans at the car. I never parked there again.

Where does that leave your mate? Will he have to take the coach back to where it was attacked?

Anchy - a Lady in the meadow Nairobi by philip Gate Keeper, on Flickr

Good morning all, here is one of our dogs, called Anchy. We took over her care from a relative who was not feeding her properly and she was on the brink of dying from starvation. His wife died last year from a brain tumour and not long after that, he was made redundant. After losing his wife and his job, he fell to pieces and this included not looking after the dog. For the past 2 months we have had the vet come to visit her twice to give her monthly injections for dog mange - scabies and to help relieve the itching and the hair loss. She is a delightful lady and since we took over her care, she seems much happier in herself.
