I've always bought the cheapest derv I can find (my car was a company car for the first two years that I drove it). The HP pump and all four injectors are original and still working fine at just coming up to 393k miles, so it can't be that bad.

No additives, but have used Forte injector cleaner on 3 occasions - and good stuff it is too.

I'm a firm believer in "Cleanliness now prevents Oh My Godliness later" when changing the fuel filter or doing any other work on the fuel system though.

Just a short question, I bought a cleaner from Wynns, so I want to try it by adding it to the filter. But it only has 250ml, so should I empty the all diesel filter and pour ONLY the cleaner there, then start for 30 sec and leave it overnight? Is that right?

Easier if you fill a new filter with the cleaner before fitting.

I would advise against emptying a used filter as you risk dislodging some previously caught debris.
