Default New rover mg diagnostics kit

A Rover/MG specific diagnostic laptop based tool has recently been launched.

It is the result of a lot of work to enable it to provide much greater functionality than the generic type. It also works on the pre 2004 diesels which were not eobd compliant.

There are some screen shots on our tuning-diesels.co.uk website though we do not as yet stock it.

http://www.tuning-diesels.co.uk/revi...w-diagnostics/

The ability of those involved to develop this is impressive, particularly in view of the selling price. (£180)

That looks really good. Had a look at the KickStarter page and it appears to have a number of backers already.

Looking forward to see how this develops. Is it anyone on this site that's behind it?

Looks good, but nothing on the video showed a 75 diesel ecu.

Very interested, but more information needed me thinks.

Yes it's me. I haven't made a video of if connected to a 75/ZT because I don't own one. It has been tested on Rob Bell's ZT-T, and also on a friend's face lift 75. Both of those are diesels.

As I will be at the Halfway House meet on Sunday I can probably get someone to video it there.

If anyone has any questions please reply here and I will answer.

Good luck with this project. Should be a real help keeping the cars on the road.

That looks very good indeed Phillip, there is obviously a long way to go in terms of development of the necessary security protocols for accessing units such as the BCU, EWS etc, but very promising.

Of course Phil-T4 has a lovely piece of kit, which does all of this and more, utilising a FTDI 232 RL and a rather nifty piece of software

Does all that a T4 can do too

Is there really a need for this product? There are already a handful of diagnostic products in that price range that can do quite a lot on all models of Rover. I see this one can only do read and erase of fault code, and live data.
