I've tried a phall and a Tinderloo (hotter version of a vindaloo) but they are to hot to be eaten for anything else but a bet!!

Madras is about as hot as I can go and still enjoy it.

When I first started courting my now wife, we went for a curry one night, I had a madras, and Fiona had a Vindaloo! I took a teaspoon full of hers and immediately had to gulp the water. Nowadays I couldn't do a Madras in a restaurant, the hottest I could do would be a Parthia or Ceylon. I can take Madras if it comes out of a jar, as it's not quite as hot as the restaurant or takeaway, but nothing hotter, the daughter, who is veggie, has had veg vindaloo a couple of times and scoffed the lot, maybe as we get older our systems can't take the heat.

Eating these mega hot curries is a macho thing,I cannot believe anyone actually enjoys them.

Me I love Indian food, but prefer the flavours of the spices rather than something overloaded with hot chillies.

The Indian people do not eat them hot,its just something invented for the British menus

Twist of black pepper on some boiled cabbage is as spicy as it gets here The plumbing complains terribly otherwise. the missus wont go near any sort of spicy food, I think I was in my thirties before I even had a taste of chilli or tried a kebab, don't think I've been near those hot ones since lol.

I try a really mild spicy...ish sauce every now & them though.

I felt OK when I woke up this morning, then mid morning had a bit of a dodgy stomach and had to visit the men's room four times . Anyway I'm fine now and will be having mince and onion pie for tea with cabbage and mashed swede. I'll finish the rest of the Phall off in due course with rice and a few Poppadoms... Glutton for punishment or what .

Cold curry sarnie's is a matter of taste. Makes a change if taking the sarnie's to work.
