Cool Unscheduled mini tour of the U.K....................

................................with Banana starting tomorrow. Having had a health scare a 6 weeks ago, ended up in A&E. Plus a bereavement in the family, which has been very complicated to sort out. Police involved as death under suspicious circumstances and is still ongoing. So I have been ordered, not told, to have a complete rest. I have cancelled attending quite a few meets over the last 2 months, and have cancelled a few up and coming. Will still be attending the Alan Jay Memorial Meet.

So off to see those folk far down the West Country. Taking the revitalised Banana now she is all fixed. Will keep the diary going as per norm as we have quite a following.

Might even get some more of the book done. And get to quaff a few ales.

I'll be at the Grenta Green meet in July and at Grantown on Spey in September, both meets were booked awhile ago. A bit nearer the time I'll contact you and we can arrange a meet up for a coffee and a natter.

Have a good time and rest while you are away. If I said " feet up " it would be a joke wouldn't but look after yourself.

See you again soon.

Cool Banana is now back to her.................

......................old self. Now running even better than she has been over the last 12 months. No rattles from the steering and no growling from the wheel bearings. Nice and smooth as a ZT should be.

Decided to take Banana down the wash n go shop this morning as she was looking ever so grubby. The lads soon had a sparkling again. So start off time was about the same, around 10am. Stopped at Sedgemoor services on the M5 for bite and a drink. Was there for about 30 minutes.

And got to Matt and Shirley's at 14.10. Not bad going, 250 miles at a constant speed. No not my usual 69.9mph but my new speed of dead on 70(ish!). Acoording to the on board computer it was showing 46.4mpg. I always re-set to zero for every trip. But it's never completely right. I reckon it is more likely to be around the 42mpg mark. Still good going though. Mixed weather on way down some sun and a wee drop of rain.

Off to Coffee and Cars this evening at the Passage Inn this evening after a fish n chip tea. Feeling relaxed already.

Cool Got towed this evening...........................

..............................on a rope behind a ZTT CDTi. Not used to being towed, up on the back of recovery truck is what I'm used to. Still it was an experience being on the end of a tow rope and I had no power steering, no battery and a puncture. Trying to stop was one thing but getting around corners was something else. Still we got the little ZR..............oh! Did I not mention it was a little MG ZR. Bet you thought it was Banana.

Had sausage and chips for tea, makes a change from fish for me. We took both cars to the "Coffee & Cars" meet at the Passage Inn last night. A very good turn out with 14 cars. A very nice 820 coupe and a Rover 75 with just 26,000 miles on the clock came along.

We were still there at 11pm but the pub were not bothered and left us alone. Still at least the rain had stopped. Had to have the screen de-mister on the way back.
