Rear windscreen unstuck!!?!
I've been trying to trace water ingress into my project 75. Found it finally only after a carwash. The back window on the tourer has become unstuck! 50% in fact!
What glue should I use to re-stick, and what prep should i do to the frame and glass? Anyone had this? And hows best to resolve? Thanks, Paul. |

Try some captain tolleys creeping crack cure! There are many alternatives but this is the easiest (and quite cheap)! Has helped me but may require extra application from time to time.

I think I'd get a window guy in and just get it refitted if it half off.
There a bonded screen so require special glues and bonding. I had a leak in the rear of my 75 recently, water collecting under passenger side rear seat. Finally traced it back to the chrome strip clips along the edge of the roof. Was running all the way down the c pillar, under the plastic trim and coming out next to the seat belt fitting on the floor. |

Sorry, i was hoping to grab a photo. Its the very back window, rear heated screen. Id like to fix it myself if possible as we're on a budget for this car. my zt is my main car, and id rather put my money in to that
So any idea on what id need to bond it back on? |

It's quite a job though, basically, you have to use cheese wire to cut through what little of the old adhesive is currently holding it in, then trim the old adhesive down to about 1mm thick, apply an even triangular shaped bead to this freshly cut old adhesive, and stick it back in using suction cups. You will need to use epoxy based primer if you get down to the paint at any point. You'd be best off replacing all the trim clips around it too, especially the ones at the bottom (and apply some of the urethane sealant to them prior to fitting) as they only have a small piece of foam sealing them which perishes and lets water in to the boot. You'd probably be better off getting a windscreen fitter to do it to be honest, as it's quite a learning curve, and you'll need a lot of tools and skill anyway. |

Now I am confused as that "window is not sealed as such as the window is supposed to open. Has the previous owner stuck it down (presumably because it leaked). The window needs opening and the seal needs sorting/replacing.
