I had someone on another forum argue for sitting in the middle lane - the world is full of daft. Luckily everyone else soon set him straight!
Nothing worst than having to go L1 > L2 > L3 > L2 > L1 just to overtake an idiot that doesn't know how to use a motorway.
last time I was driving in England, I did kinda hog the middle lane. but there was about 40 lorries doing 50, with a couple of lorry lengths between. I was doing 70 - 75 and outside land clear, I mean completely clear! yet still got flashed and overtaken when I slotted and slowed between the lorries.

Awe here, nearly forgot about this, gave me a real sense of satisfaction. Going south on the M6 yesterday (wife wanted to visit Windemere . . . . again!), Range Rover went screaming down the fast lane, I was doing 70+ and it left me standing so reckon ton, ton+. Muttered several things about the driver under my breath. Several miles further down the road, here's the same Range Rover only this time its sitting on the hard shoulder with a traffic car behind it. Serves you right you ....... idiot!

I was coming down a narrow lane yesterday and was being extra vigilant as it was school chucking out time. I had nearly got to the bit where it widens when, on rounding a bend I came face to face with a Range Rover. There was a passing place about 200 yards down the lane but I had a bend behind me. We stared at each other for a while and then I thought about someone coming round the bend behind me a .....you know the rest. So I gingerly reversed round the bend and found a wider bit. The R/R stuck close to the front of me car all the way. Finally the 4x4 came level with me and I noticed the driver. She was absolutely gorgeous and the window came down.

"Thank you darling," She breathed " I am absolutely useless at reversing."

"Well," I replied, "What the **** are you doing driving children around?"

That's what I should have said but all I could manage was a very weak, "Oh! that's alright."

Pathetic I know but I got my own back later by shouting "Hospital!" at two young lads on scooters.

I agree not all truckers are any good
Some think they own the road cuz of there size
But it's the same old story there's good and bad in all drivers no matter what they drive

many yeas ago my dad would drop my mum off on the way to work. she would walk down to the zebra crossing, he would drive down and stop so she could cross.

He did this one day and looked down at the car on his off side. the car coming down behind him had also braked and stopped but the woman passenger had been putting her lipstick on. Apparently due to the car braking she had managed to run the lipstick from her lip part way up the side of her face.

Lady approached local roundabout in nearside lane (arrowed for left or straight on). I'm just behind her, in right lane (arrowed for turning right). As she gets to the roundabout, she cuts into my lane, goes back into nearside lane, drifts back into my lane again and then goes right around the roundabout (back where we came from!). No signals - nothing!

If you are travelling at 70 mph, you are supposed to stay in the near side lane until you catch another vehicle up travelling slower. When you get within 100 feet of the vehicles in front BRAKING distance, providing there is no one within YOUR braking distance behind you, you can indicate that you are about to move into the next lane and proceed to complete the manoeuvre . Same to move into the outside lane on a motorway. Not very hard to do if you are concentrating, not using a phone, or putting your makeup on.
