Will this be an MOT Fail?
On my 2006 reg. MGZT the little pop up wire which comes up and down on the passenger door lock has become detached from the lock and fell down inside the door. When I investigated this the little green bush with which it was attached to the lock had become brittle and broken off. I see the part has been suspended by Rimmers and in any case I don't fancy the job of replacing it. The door unlocks manually from inside and out and the central locking works OK.
Will this fail the MOT? I hope not as some modern cars don't even have these catches (wires). Thanks, Peter |

You should be fine, as long as the door can still be opened and closed as designed.

Door catches - Fail?
Once again, thanks all for the answers. Checking the DVLA website, so long as the doors can be opened from both inside and out it should pass the MOT.
