Thanks Jamie.
I did see Mat and Scott's OEM-Q ones on the site and hoped they might be a good bet. I have heard about different versions (Mk1 and Mk2 maybe....and then mention of TAZU) of metal slaves having different performance and that perhaps things were starting to improve but not sure what's what on that yet. Cheers. Jonty |

Thanks Jon.
In a way that is hugely reassuring and if mine lasts as long as that then I shall have to keep my lovey new master cylinder all wrapped up in the dark and ready for when the time comes! See you in cream tea county sometime :-) Jonty |

Do not fit an XPart slave, they are Chinese junk, one year on after fitting an XPart three part clutch in white boxes, and a new LUK DMF and I'm plagued with clutch judder
If I were to fit another clutch to the car, it would be LUK repset Pro, however if you are looking toward an original style slave cylinder, something like this would suffice LINK The Tazu all metal slave is not fit for purpose, and I'm sceptical in the extreme of anyone offering "OEM-Q" parts......what does that even mean for heavens sake? the OEM part was manufactured by AP, latterly I've seen Delphi boxed units under the part number LLA10025, which when inspected, have the AP logo cast into the casing, adjacent to where the pipes are fitted. My wife's car which has had a heavy clutch for some time now, will have it's clutch replaced this year for that reason, the car is fifteen years old and has the original clutch fitted, with no fluid leaks or loss. I have a Borg and Beck, and by that I mean a real one, not just a brand name on a box, a new old stock Land Rover Freelander URB500070, and yes I've compared this to the "Borg and Beck" boxed components, and they are worlds apart in terms of quality, and a AP slave cylinder, along with a NOS LHD AP master. The warmer weather will see this fitted to the car, along with a subframe refurb while it is off the car. Have fun doing the job Brian |

Thanks Brian - it is great to collect together all the accumulated knowledge and advice so that I can go into buying a replacement clutch with my eyes open.
It's either get the parts purchase right first time for this job...or hunt down an automatic tourer / ZT-T!!! Cheers, Jonty |

D’you know, I’m not a fan of slushboxes, but I seem to remember Mark, the guy who has the misfortune of looking after my two motors, saying he would only ever drive an auto 75 for this reason… I can see his point now.
If mine goes again, it’s out with the matches, then a nice wee Nissan Leaf and home charger…
