1.8T Auto / V8 washer bottle and level sensor
Does anyone know when or why the design of the washer bottle (without headlamp wash) for the 1.8T auto and V8 changed?
The original part number on my car is DMB000280. The current version (available from Rimmers) is DMB000440. I've attached a photo of each below. There's an obvious "scoop" out of the original version (not far from where indicator would be), that is "filled out" in the newer bottle. Is this to accommodate the different bumper design for the facelift? I haven't tried fitting the bumper over it, but I can't see the new bottle fouling the Mk1 bumper And the opening for the Shannon tube is the same for both variants. Any ideas? Also, I think I've found an aftermarket replacement for the level sensor (original part number: DMI100000 (see link)): https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Febi-Wind...sAAOSwczhbVh58 This is a Febi part and looks exactly the same as the original, except for the fact that BMW (or some other branding) appears to have been scored away :O Cheers, Karl.
