Default radio reset?

hi folks, returned from weeks holiday yesterday, jumped into car to go for paper, started no problem, decided to have some music, all i got was CODE---, now if the battery had gone down it would have been expected, but why would it dissapear for no apparrant reason. sooooo i thought, i'll play a cd, note the word THOUGHT, so my fellow members, is there an easy remedy or do i have to take and get reset. oh by the way the bad news is i don't have a reset number as i had no history at all with the car.

Hi jonno. if you take the radio out you can take it to a car radio main dealer with some proof that you are the owner of the car that it is fitted to, and they should be able to give you the code for a few squid.

sometimes the codes have been written on the radio. (4 digits) if you pullthe radio out you never know you might be lucky, failing that if you provide proof of ownership then you should be able to get the code from a dealer by giving them the serial number for the radio ...
