Rover 75 cdi broken fuel pipe.
Hello,
I had problems with the intank fuel pump. I replaced it, but doing so, I broke the fuel pipe. It is the brass piece between the "knee" and the thin fuel pipe, with the thick outer. Now it is not clear to me, what it is. What is this fuel pipe for. Is this brass piece just a coupling between the two different sizes ? Or is it some kind of flow reduction ? Can I replace this ? Or do I have to get a complete fuel pipe ? Where can I get it ? This happens if you try to fix your car without any technical skill However, the in tank fuel pump seems to work ! Regards, Rene. |

Hi rever64. Welcome to the club. I am afraid i do not know anything about the intank pump as i have not seen one in the flesh, so to speak.
If it is made of metal, i would replace it with a new one if poss, otherwise hang on for someone with some knowledge of the part.

The in-tank fuel pump is inside the tank. The part I am looking for is outside.
It is one of the two pipes leaving the tank, but connected on the outside of the tank. |

I too have no idea as to what you mean, but I'll take a guess at the pick up pipe Feed to the fuel burner heater, which is like a straw and usually plastic, infact everything within the tank and pipes to and from are plastic.

It is the C1 line. You see the knee bent hose. Then a clamp. Right from it, the hose. There is a piece of metal, in the hose coming from the right side, and the knee bent hose. This is broken, since I tried to disconnect here in stead of taking the knee bent hose from the fuel pump unit. ( The hose on mine is a small diameter pipe, with a thick rubber like coat. ) Regards, Rene |

That's the feed for the fuel burner as I said if your car has one you'll need to repair it,
if not just blank it off someway |

Thanks,
I guess you mean the webasto heater ? I have one This lift a heavy weight of my shoulder. Then it is not a trivial hose, and it will not have any presure ? Fixing in a simple way will still be safe. Like putting a 10mm hose over it, and just clamp it. regards, Rene. |

It won't be in use at this time of the year, and it sucks the fuel out so no pressure to worry about, so a leisurely fix will suit you no doubt.
