Maybe, but my first thought is just to replace like with like, so I don't have to make any changes to mountings or wiring.

You'll do well to find a working 3-speed that's worth the effort. Try for a 2-speed with gold resistor rather than the 3-speed you have. Same fitting, plug and play, but longer lifespan. But not from a diesel. (contact Arctic?)

It would, but there's no indication of the year or mileage. You'd be best getting the later resistor controlled version (from a petrol model). As noted, contact Arctic for the good solution.
