Was rudely woken by the sound of Mrs Noc's CDT cranking over without firing up this morning.

Told her to take my car to work and went back to sleep.

Having my first cup of coffee for the day I thought it is a long time since I checked the plenums, and we have had a fair bit of rain lately.

So that was the first port of call, and luckily it was as dry as a dead dingo's donger. Mmm, less than a quarter of a tank showing on the gauge, so next check was a listen to the ITP........ and the sound of silence.

So swapped it out for a spare from the garage.

Now I've mentioned before about the unknown cowboys who have worked on this car before, and lo and behold they had been in the tank too. The static pump was not clipped in and floating around.

And can anyone spot the problem in this photo?

Yeeehaaa!

Nice to get some honest fuel consumption figures there, John.
I sometimes wonder what is wrong with my diesel, when everyone else is getting 78.6 mpg thrashing it around town!

1. You opened the back door and found that someone has nicked the back seat.
2. The missus is possibly having an affair with a tool supply merchant.

Spot on Bob - well with the first part of your answer anyway.

I unclipped the seat then carried it out of the car before it struck me I shouldn't be able to do that.

The centre seatbelt anchorage had been taken off at some point and replaced but not through the seat. End result was a fitted seatbelt with slack in it where it snaked around the back of the seat base. In the event of a serious shunt I doubt the pretensioner would have been able to take up that amount of slack.

Today I bought my new driving instruction car to replace my Yaris Hybrid, it's really quite nice and a step above the Yaris in almost every way.

Quick update - the 3 Amigos have left the building (well the dashboard to be precise).

Been busy lately so the Freelander was left for a bit. Nice easy job - undo the driveshaft nut, then the two bolts holding the hub to the strut and release the driveshaft. Clean up the mounting, tap on the new ABS reluctor ring and put it back together.

Simples! And a total cost of less than two quid. If only the 75s were this cheap and easy to work on.

Didn’t do anything to the 75, I did however have a play with the R8 coupe. I’ve removed the tatty looking stainless steel backbox and fitted an oe backbox with added chrome trim along with a new catalytic converter.

Today I mostly didn't start to strip out the front suspension. Roasting hot and the car's in the sun. Cold drink and some ladies World Cup footy instead.
