Central locking remote malfunction
I am posting this to assist anyone who experiences a similar problem.
On arriving at a hotel, the central locking seemed to go into melt down. After several presses on the remote, the doors locked, but then refused to open. When I used the key, the alarm went off. Essentially, everything I tried to fix the fault was unsuccessful. I tried resetting the alarm, disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes. Nothing solved the problem. After scouring the Internet, I found a post which suggested that the problem might be caused by interference from Wi-fi router(s). Whilst having breakfast I established that the hotel employed four routers. As soon as we were out of range, the central locking resumed to operating perfectly. I hope that this saves you going through the hassle that I experienced. |

Had this at home once. Mrs Noc complained that she couldn't lock her car, so I went out to have a look.
Tried unlocking mine to get my tools out of the boot and the penny dropped. Apparently a dodgy doorbell can also cause this problem. Talking of which a few years ago my mother-in-law's doorbell packed up. It was an old hard wired switch and the reason it wasn't working was a dead insect between the switch contacts. |
