Nice shot.

I hope you get lots of enjoyment from your new acquisition.

What camera did you get.

I went for the Nikon D7100, it has an auto mode that I thought would be good untill I get more "skilled"
I have the Nikon D200 too, I think they are knocking on for ten years old now, but like I say, heck of a lot to learn when all I have had for 15 years are point & shoot cameras.

I know little about Nikon stuff but a quick google tells me you have a fine camera.

Looks like a great choice.

Nice photo Ken. I like the way you can see the sky through the branches of the tree and the shadows on those branches.

Great pic, nicely composed, almost symmetrical

I hope you enjoy learning as much as I am. I find it quite addictive trying out different camera settings and seeing what the results are. The beauty of digital, of course, is if you make a balls up, there's nothing wasted

Pic is fuzzy, try it again at a nicer time of day, 11am is OK. LOL.

The downside is, if you face the same way, you will just get a pic of a leafless tree and some roofs. innit....

Good to see you enjoying your new camera Ken,

A hint to help saturate the colours in the sky and bring the warm colours out further into the photo is to take your camera off auto white balance and select cloudy/overcast white balance instead

Next time you have a sunset/sunrise give it a go along with the standard setting and compare the difference
