Default Difficulty opening boot in the frost

Hi,
During this cold spell, the boot (facelift) has been difficult to open at times. And once it's open, it wouldn't close. Some wd40 helped but is there a better way?

Thanks.

People with technical expertise will soon tell you what's needed but what I do when this happens to my CDTi saloon rear doors or boot is to simply quickly warm up the body work with a number of kettles full of warm tap water. I spray whatever oil is to hand on locks as opposed to WD40 because oil stays around longer.

Lee has given a very good reply as I was posting my reply.

I've found it isn't enough to lubricate just the latches, drowned my rear door and front door the other day but I'm still experiences problems (it was recently -17c). The only remedy I found which works long term is to lubricate the mechanism inside the doors too (in your case the boot). My favourite is ATF oil fed by my compressor, but any thin oil will do.

Regards
