It's the performance throughout the range that intrigues. I've driven the v6 and both diesel bhps. I like the smoothness of a v6 and the lift-off at 3000+ rpm. The mid-range torque of a remapped diesel is smile inducing. However I have not driven a 1.8 in any guise and I'm wondering how a tweaked version compares.

How's the power increase at lower revs? I'm quite happy with the power of my 1.8t once the turbo kicks in, but at lower revs, it always seems a little flat. I know it's only a 1.8 with quite a bit of weight to get moving, but a little extra at lower revs would be nice.

Its certainly smoother at lower revs and power is delivered slightly earlier than before (thats that i feel). I paid £150 for my remap at an organised event where he was remapping a number of cars.
