Default engine management warning light

Hi all Ive turned the engine management light by starting the car with a electrical plug disconnected the one on the inlet manifold behind the throttle body any way how can I reset the warning light or does it have yo go to a garage? Cheers all

Should go out next time you start.
If not the good old battery disconnect (for an hour) may do it.

as said if you plug it back take the car for a drive and the ecu will see there isnt a problem with it and will put the light out .

Hi there thanks for the replys but ive all ready had the battery disconnected for 2 hours and it made no difference the light is still on and ive driven back from work with it on and thats about a 60 mile trip any more ideas.

if it wasnt on before you started car with it unplugged then it will put it out ,have pushed the connector in fully .any cheapo code reader will put light out , it is possible that there is another cause for the light ,that just happen to show it self at the this time .best to read the car and see what it says...

Just to let you all know the engine management light reset its self today on its only so I guess it just takes the ecu a little while to sort things out.
