Default Alternative cooling fan/motor for V6?

I have a non working fan motor, I suspect, on a V6.
Have anyone got experience with changing the motor and fan from another popular car, like BMW, VW (or anything else).
If so I would be interested in knowing more about it.
I am trying to replace the whole fan with an alternative good unit from any popular car. I would be interested in a wiring diagram as well.
(I have earlier replaced brushes, but the motor has now given up, maybe it has stopped working, I will find out in due course.)

Why? That is the most complicated and troublesome solution possible.

Ah, that's probably because you didn't buy the brushes from Engineering Carbon Products Ltd. in Croydon, England. Am I right or wrong Kaiser?

Kaiser - also curious as to alternatives as I don't like the press fit ones now supplied as genuine as my blades parted company, and sooner or later commutator wear will be terminal.

These seem very similar to ours, Siemens too, but whenever I try to find them over this side of the pond even with the same number the likeness ends. Perhaps the BMWs in Yankland had different fans fitted. Might be a chance that BMWs down your way have the Siemens type.

Thumbs up

Workaholic ro has used a Ford Mondeo fan and he posted a thread on how he did it. Ceedy posted on the same thread of using a fan from an alternative vehicle too. Thread is here: Click

How about one of these?

Has plenty of power and is only a little smaller than the original so that could be made up with some foam if it was needed.

Being VW it should be available world wide and be reliable, there is also plenty of copies of this fan available if you wanted to go that route, I suspect the mounting would need fiddling but nothing a few washers could not fix.

I was going to try one of these but have never got round to it, I am going to make it one of my winter projects I will let you know how it goe's or you could be the first to try it something along this line, more investigation required yet though as to which would be the best one to replace with.
