electric seats help
hi there can anyone tell me what pins in the seat plug i need to provide power to so that i can move seats forward and backwards as i need to access fixing holes i have a spare battery and need to get these fitted as soon as possible not worried about wiring them in permenantly as i just want to install set and leave them

electric seats help
thanks for the quick reply i have read every post on this subject but i cannot find/understand where i can attached postive and negative from the battery to the plug i thought it might be orange and black in the plug but im not sure?

Isn't this extract from the post what you need
"Again just match live to live and earth to earth. The seat will not work unless you get this right. Pins 4,5 and 8 must have live connections and both earths (3 and 7) must be connected. Again I just cut the cables from the plug and used bullet crimps to connect them."

electric seat help
thanks for taking the time to reply guys but i need to know if i connect postive(live) to the orange terminal and the negative(earth) to the black terminal just in case i blow the relay

John, you have a plug on the seat with 8 pins, they are numbered on the back 1 to 8, reading on from this connect your live to pins 4,5 and 8. then connect your negative to pins 3 and 7. this will give you correct movement of the seat. It says in this thread that if these wires are not connected the seat will not move
Failing that trace the two wires that go to the horizontal seat motor, splice in to them with a live and neutral this will move the motor one way and the other HTH

electric seats help
right checked the plug found the number but only four wires pins 1,2,3 & 8
help thanks for all the help guys but i cannot get the right connections i have tried connecting pos & neg to the motor but all i get is a clunk fron both motors thanks

yep tried that as post above just got a clunk from the the motor but think it has to go through the relay? to work both directions any ideas!
