Default maybe i have a v6 supercharger

well thats what it sounds like when my zt 190 revs. ive changed the belts and tensioners and it gets louder with the revs. its not a nasty noise sounds very much like the vxr8 nurburg edition vauxhall. is more aparant if its reved slowly whilst driving. and onlt notice in lower gears.

Possibly battery / alternator. Sure I noticed a similar whine from mine because the Sat Nav wasn't shutting down and draining the battery.

Perhaps worth checking both are as they should be.

Did you use genuine cam belts? We've come across some belts that whine - they are either Goodyear or Dunlop, I can't remember.

After mine was done (cambelts and tensioner), the mechanic noticed a wine.
He got back in and found a dud (new) tensioner. The garage (ex MGR) said he could claim the extra work involved from Xpart.

Only other thing I can think of is if you run the climate unit on Auto, air con on, maybe the system is low on gas. This would make the compressor whine.

Last summer my air con pump started making a strange whirring sound. For you I doubt it is that in this weather but perhaps worth listening for just in case.
