Had a 160 remap, also have a ronbox........WOWEE
Had a 160 remap, also have a ronbox, fitted the new ECM with 160 remap, left the existing ronbox turned on and.......WOW!!!!! car goes like stink, almost "too" fast for 75 tourer, sports car like, kinda like it though
Is it a problem to run both??, will I blow something up?? love the performance though, my wife has a V6 3.2 audi TT quatro so I am used to fast cars but can I leave the ronbox on?, with it off the performance is still great but wow with it on.....rocket ship or what?? I'd be more interested in seeing the insurer's reaction!

I suspect its a bad idea to run both, the car is not designed to perform like that, I will end up trashing the clutch or getting fuel leak due to high pressure, its ok, the Ronbox sells on e-bay for quite a good price, dont really need that sort of performance, I dont really like my wifes V6 TT Quatro automticfantasticosynchtronico its just too powerful and thirsty, its "limited" to 155MPH, 0-60 in 5 seconds or so, just crazy performance, the 75 is not a sports car, well not in conny spec so I reckon its coming off tomorrow

Interesting post, I have both on ROGER !
The results are brilliant, Rog only does relatively short runs maybe 20-30 miles or so, but the throttle response is really nice, and once in a while the extra poke is used for fun purposes but not used as a performance car where the poke is used to the max all the time! It's been on there for about a year now with no real issues, apart from a fair bit of smoke when used for hard power on situations, many folk have used this car as it gets loaned out when needed due to breakdowns, or mot failures etc and they enjoy its behaviour! The settings are at the lowest point for the Bosch Maf system and would advise AGAINST going further on than that with the settings of the Ronald box. The enjoyment factor is better for me than the few £ a RonBox will make on sale, so it stays on Roger ! Cheers, JohnH. |
