Question Faint Whistling From An Engine Tube

I'll try to describe this as best I can. I just replaced the battery on my car, I say 'me', it was a friend, but I held the spanners. Anyway, he noticed a faint whistling sound that seems to be coming from one of the tubes that leads into a box at the top-centre of the engine. When he squeezed it the whistling stopped. He doesn't know what it is, and I sure as hell don't.

I don't open the bonnet very often so can't say I've ever noticed it. Is it normal? If not, what could it be?

It's the tube immediately behind the yellow cap: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/08...de/bay18na.jpg (not my car, found on google and seems to be from this very website!)

Any help would be much appreciated!

Default Umm...

It's stopped now. It only seems to happen immediately after the ignition is turned off.

That's what I pay my local garage for! I can do fluids, though, but that's my limit.
